A Day At The Woodenshoe Tulip Festival

The Woodenshoe Tulip Festival, held annually at a beautiful farm and vinyard just to the east of Woodburn, Oregon, is one of Oregon’s most looked forward to events. This year, because of the pandemic, one could not just drop by the event. Tickets were purchased online in advance to allow for a specific capacity of people to attend each day and mask wearing was mandatory. I thought this was a very nice solution. There were food vendors, children’s rides, art vendors, and rows and rows of tulips. I felt safe, while at the same time got to enjoy an event I loved attending for several years in the past.

Due to the ticket buying, I didn’t have the option of planning for a good day to photograph. My tickets landed me on a bright sunny day, which is not always the best for photos. I worked with the light and was able to create some beautiful shots. One of these years I’ll opt for the sunrise pass. I’m not a morning person, so I’m never sure if I can pull that off. I hope you enojoy the tulip photographs.
